The #BlackandHooded Scholarship originated in August of 2017 after a successful launch of the social media campaign and blackandhooded.com photo archive. This scholarship seeks to alleviate the financial burden that many graduate students, especially Black graduate students, face when pursuing post-secondary degrees. Through the generous donations of movement supporters and #BlackandHooded Merchandise sales, #BlackandHooded has awarded 12 scholarships to incoming black graduate students across the nation and across disciplines.
